70s Christmas Outfit : Collaboration with @SewMuchFabric

I love asking you for help when I have a project. I recently got invited to a 70s inspired Christmas party and the first thing I did was ask for your help on Instagram stories. Thank you to @angieeccx_ for suggesting Janis Joplin and @yuets who inspired the big glasses 😊. Many others said bellbottoms/flared pants, platforms, big curly hair, and mini skirts.

Of course the next step is turn to Pinterest where I organize my inspiration board.

After putting my vision board together and #sewing my muslin using #M3892, I texted Rosalind @sewmuchfabric and explained my project and vision. I told her I wanted a shimmery fabric and made an appointment to see her. I fell in love with the first fabric she presented to me😍.

To finish up the #70sfashionlook, I purchased the faux fur coat & #jessicasimpson #platformshoes from @goodwillintl. It is a great place to find costume pieces and one-time wear items. And if you’re lucky, you might find a unique treasure😉.  I also purchased the glasses & jewelry from @charmingcharlie.

I threw the $11 coat into the wash & wiped the $5 shoes down with disinfecting wipes. I ruined the faux leather trim on the coat but trimmed it off and it worked perfectly fine for my purpose. Have you ever explored the #secondhandshop? What was your best find?

I am in love with the #70soutfit! Thank you to everyone who helped me put this whole look together🤗😘. I appreciate you all so much! Also, special thanks to @sewmuchfabric for choosing this gorgeous fabric. The shimmer & flow of this ivory gold metallic #fabric is just beautiful and easy to #sew with. This is perfect for my #70sfashion #Christmasparty.

My next post will be in Jan 2019 & I look forward to sharing many more design journeys with you.  If you are not following me on Instagram, make sure to do so at https://www.instagram.com/youtiquebridal/

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 & a Happy New Year. 🎉🥂 It is officially time to create memorable holiday moments with my children, family, & friends. Don’t forget the reason for this season…the Christ King 👑, our true gift 🎁 , will be born to bring love into the world. May we be able to experience His love and spread it around our home, community, and world. May peace, love, and hope prevail🥰.
