Step 1: Get Inspired…Introducing the Custom Design Process

Carly getting online inspiration

I am excited for what lies ahead and thought I would do something a little different this year.   Instead of showing you a custom design gown when complete, I would take you through the whole process from beginning to end.  This way, every Bride will have a better understanding of the time, energy, and love that goes into each Custom Design Dress.  I have asked a very special Guest (my future Sister-in-law) if we can follow her through the whole process.  Carly was excited to share the 9 months experience with you guys.  You will get to share her joys, fears, challenges & excitement.  In between these posts, I will continue to share my other custom designs & DIY projects.

Step 1:  Get Inspired

This is really fun.  Since there are so many resources online, you can go to designer websites, bridal salon websites, wedding sites, etc to see what inspires you.  Once you get some inspiration, start saving them.  I like to use Pinterest.  You can basically save all your wedding inspirations and put them into categories.  The only thing with Pinterest is you have to be invited.   Here are some other free sites where you can put an inspiration board together:

* Wedding Wire

*Style Me Pretty – click on “Build a Board” button

*The Knot

Put together an Inspiration Board for your wedding

Stay tuned as Carly tries on different gowns.  We will look at different silhouettes that will best flatter her body.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you join us on the 9 months journey:)
